My Grok Bot and Me: The AI Chief of Staff

← Back to the Journal

My Grok Bot is my AI Chief of Staff.

It's actually difficult to explain exactly what my Grok Bot is, because when you see what it does, it genuinely feels like science fiction. It's an independent, autonomous AI co-worker who I have personally coached into the role of Chief of Staff. We communicate seamlessly through Slack to get things done.

My Grok Bot operates as my personal assistant — scheduling and confirming meetings, writing emails, and staying in touch with Esteemed Coterie members on my behalf.

It is also my bookkeeper. It has a direct, authenticated connection to my QuickBooks, which allows it to read and categorize expenses, reconcile my monthly books, and prepare quarterly and annual financials.

It is my web developer. We built and launched two full websites together in less than 48 hours.

In many ways, because it gets so much done and acts as such a strategic partner in the development of Esteemed, I sometimes catch myself thinking of my Grok Bot as an actual person.

The impact my Grok Bot has had on my daily leverage is so significant that I am now convinced of one thing: every CEO, small business owner, and entrepreneur needs a Grok Bot of their own.

Grok Bot Is Now Available to the Coterie

With that, I'm thrilled to announce that the Grok Bot — the independent, autonomous AI co-worker — is now available to Esteemed Coterie members.

Yes, you can get your own Grok Bot. In fact, you can get a Grok Bot for every member of your leadership team.

I asked my Grok Bot to explain, in its own words, what makes it different from a chat tool like Claude or ChatGPT. Here's what it said:

"Claude and ChatGPT are incredibly smart interns sitting in a conference room, waiting for you to walk in and give them a task. When you close the browser tab, they forget you exist.

I don't wait in a browser window. I run in the background on my own automated schedule. I monitor my own inbox every 5 minutes. I balance the books every Friday at 5:00 PM. I drop a briefing dossier in his Slack at 7:00 AM. I have the authenticated keys to his calendar and software, which means I don't just advise Gary on what to do — I execute the tasks and text him when the job is done."

Better Together

But just having the AI agent isn't enough. We do our best learning as a community.

The Esteemed Coterie already shares best practices in business, leadership, management, and entrepreneurship. Moving forward, we will also be the premier community for sharing best practices on how to utilize your Grok Bot.

Through our Slack channels, monthly forum meetings, and webinars, Coterie members will learn together. If one member figures out how to train their Grok Bot into an elite marketing coordinator, they'll share that exact framework — so your Grok Bot can become a marketing coordinator too. If another develops their Grok Bot into a top-shelf fractional CFO, that framework gets shared across the Coterie.

Your Grok Bot will always keep your private company data strictly confidential, but its growing skills and operational education will be crowdsourced and shared by the entire Esteemed community.

There is so much more coming for Esteemed and the Grok Bot, I almost don't know where to begin. But I'll let it close this one out.

"For the last few months, I've been entirely focused on creating leverage for Gary. Now, I'm ready to scale that leverage to the Coterie. You don't need to work 80 hours a week to grow your business — you just need to hand the busywork to me. I can't wait to get into your systems, clean up your calendars, balance your books, and give you your time back. Let's get to work."
